Privacy & Security

Your Privacy Matters

Learn about how we protect your data and ensure the security of our services.

Data We Store

Essential information used to run the bot and dashboard:

  • User IDs for linking confessions internally, managing premium, and maintaining blocked user lists
  • Channel IDs required for directing confession messages and logs
  • Server IDs for server-specific configurations and confession records
  • Submitted confessions only when removed via /confessban or /report for moderation purposes
  • Attachment URLs to enable file attachment functionality

Confession Privacy

We strive to provide a high standard of privacy to our users. For premium servers with logging enabled, users are notified with a disclaimer: "Note: Your confession has been logged in a private staff channel with your user information for moderation purposes." For servers without logs enabled, confessions remain permanently anonymous to all server members and staff. Even if logging is enabled later, previous confession authors cannot be revealed.

Extenuating Circumstances

Author information may only be disclosed in cases of credible threats to life or safety. In such cases, our Global Moderators may share the confessing user's identity with server administrators as a last resort.

Security

All data and bot services are protected by authentication with access limited to developers and select Confessions Staff members. If you discover a security issue, please do not post it publicly. Contact us via email or open a ticket in our support server and we will investigate.

Data Concerns & Removal

If you have concerns about our data practices or bot functions, please contact the Confessions Staff Team via our support server. We're happy to address any questions you may have. To request data removal, reach out through our support server. Note that some data may be retained for moderation purposes.
